Application submitted to: https://pages.awscloud.com/AWS-Credits-for-Open-Source-Projects

This year they cut down the explanatory section to just 255 characters; this is what I put:

AWS credits would be used to run the "steady state" resources for Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, hosted reference environments, and hosted developer environments for the FOLIO Project, a global effort to create an open source platform geared to library apps.

Had I been able to use the full text I prepared, I would have said this:

AWS credits would be used to run the Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, hosted reference environments, and hosted developer environments for the FOLIO Project. The FOLIO Project (member of the Open Library Foundation) is a global effort to create an open source platform geared to library apps. Since its last application to the AWS Open Source Projects program, at least a dozen new libraries have started using FOLIO, including our first site in South America.

The AWS Calculator pricing estimate summary is of the project's "steady state" resources. The project also has AWS resources in use in the us-west-2 region that are ephemeral. The devops team strives to keep at least 90% of its usage covered by reserved instances and compute savings plans.

Developers, libraries, and subject matter experts from around the world contribute effort and funds to sustain this project. In addition to the libraries in the FOLIO Project, there are several commercial support providers involved. None of the AWS resources in this account are for test/production instances for a particular library or customer; these resources are for the project as a whole, and library/customer-specific test/production instances are in separate AWS accounts. All code is owned by the IRS-recognized Open Library Foundation 501(c)3 and uses the Apache 2 open source license.

Amount requested: 151,896.47 USD
