 Description

The daily build of the folio-testing reference environment failed today 2021-09-27 (see folio-testing-backend/1091/consoleFull. This followed the merge of a large number of related PRs.

See discussion in #hosted-reference-envs Slack thread.

Ruslan Lavrov did analysis, with the following discovery:

... it looks like that mod-inventory registration failed due to incorrect modules registration order.

I found in the log of "TASK [okapi-register-modules : Register modules]" step that mod-inventory-17.1.0-SNAPSHOT.420 is 20th, mod-data-import-converter-storage-1.12.0-SNAPSHOT.173 is 21st, and mod-source-record-manager-3.2.0-SNAPSHOT.474 is 22nd in the modules list.

But mod-inventory-17.1.0-SNAPSHOT.420 should follow mod-data-import-converter-storage-1.12.0-SNAPSHOT.173 and and mod-source-record-manager-3.2.0-SNAPSHOT.474.

Jakub Skoczen and Wayne Schneider The sooner, the better for this ticket. We're blocked from testing some sprint 123 changes until the hosted ref envs can be rebuilt. Thank you!

So it is the intent to introduce a dependency on the source record storage complex of modules in order to run FOLIO inventory at all? I thought that was supposed to be optional.

The PR with the change is https://github.com/folio-org/mod-inventory/pull/391

This ticket is about adjusting the sequence of module configuration in folio-testing reference environment.

That is now adjusted in folio-ansible/pull/480

Closing this ticket as done.
