 Description

At FOLIO DevOps we are wondering what is the future intention and status of the document:
https://docs.folio.org/docs/getting-started/installation/singleserverwithcontainers/

The original document is at:
https://github.com/folio-org/folio-install/tree/master/runbooks/single-server
Our process was to verify and update that for each "flower" release.

The DevOps team has limited resources. If other parts of the community are now taking on this responsibility, then we can add a notice to the original document that it is discontinued, and adjust other documentation that currently refer to it.

I just saw this. Ingolf Kuss and we are discussing this in SysOps right now. We agree that maintaining two Git repos for this process is not a good idea. However, I do not think SysOps is taking on the documentation responsibilities for maintaining the docs, but rather the tech writers that are funded through June.

I believe the single server guide at folio-install would best be linked in at https://docs.folio.org/docs/getting-started/installation/singleserverwithcontainers/

Ah, I just read https://folio-org.atlassian.net/browse/DOCS-31 and already this is what was suggested. Sorry, I didn't see the "relates to" entry before I commented above.

Yes, I agree, the documentation should only be maintained at one place, and referred to  in https://docs.folio.org/docs/ .

I haven't seen anyone maintaining the single server documentation since Honyesuckle, except for me, and I maintained it at inkuss/docs: FOLIO Documentation (github.com), a clone of folio-org/docs: FOLIO Documentation (github.com)

Thank you for maintaining it.

Can you create pull requests from your repo to the folio-org repo so that your changes can get merged into folio-org/docs and get published at docs.folio.org?

Comment by Ingolf Kuss [ 30/Nov/21 ]

Sure. I have created two pull requests, one for Honeysuckle and one for Iris:

Replace singleserverwithcontainers by Honeysuckle version by inkuss · Pull Request #41 · folio-org/docs (github.com)

Iris by inkuss · Pull Request #40 · folio-org/docs (github.com)

Comment by David Crossley [ 22/Dec/21 ]

Thanks Ingolf and Julian.

I added a note to the original document, and linked from it to the docs.f.o one.
