 Description

The Events and Presentations page on the developer site (https://dev.folio.org/community/events/) has an entry for:

  • Stripes overview presentation conducted by John Coburn to introduce the folijet EPAM team. Onboarding overview of Stripes, the front-end framework of FOLIO. (2018 August).

That entry is leading to a Microsoft login page now. If that video still exists, can you make it available to the public? Peter Murray can upload it to the Open Library Foundation YouTube channel so you won't have to host it, if you prefer.

John Coburn Please see Peter's note above. Do you know where the Stripes overview presentation is living? If you can provide the URL, I'm happy to get this broken link sorted out.

Thank you!

Peter provided the link in this issue's Description. See "Stripes overview" above.
(I now did copy-and-paste it to Ann-Marie in Slack.)

Such links are often fragile.

Comment by David Crossley [ 11/Jan/19 ]

By the way, John Coburn does also have a set of slides to accompany that presentation. I have never known where to store such (to just link to it from the dev site). Is there somewhere on the Wiki that would be suitable?

Comment by Ann-Marie Breaux (Inactive) [ 11/Jan/19 ]

David Crossley and John Coburn That link leads me to a deadend, but I'll see if one of the EPAM guys can retrieve it.

If so, we'll probably post here, which is where the slides could go as well: https://folio-org.atlassian.net/wiki/display/FOLIJET/Newcomer%27s+first+steps

Another possible option, if you wanted to post in a more generic intro space than EPAM's: https://dev.folio.org/start/

That dev.folio.org /start spot may actually be a better place. What do you think?

Oleksii Popov Could we pull this bug into the current sprint (ending today) and just give it 1 point? I think I'll have it resolved by the end of today, or the end of the weekend at the latest. Thank you!

Hi Peter Murray I have the PPT and have posted on the FOLIO Google Drive, but I can't figure out if I can edit dev.folio.org. Do you need to give me some sort of permission, or should i send you the link.

In the meantime, I"m closing this ticket, because 1) we'll get it sorted on Monday, and 2) today is the end of sprint.

Thanks,
A-M

Please provide the link Ann-Marie, and i will adjust the dev website docs.

Comment by Peter Murray [ 12/Jan/19 ]

Hi, Ann-Marie. I don't want to close this yet. Do we know if the video is no longer available?

Comment by Ann-Marie Breaux (Inactive) [ 14/Jan/19 ]

Hi Peter Murray I'm definitely closing it because it was in last sprint, and I don't want it to carry over!

The video is available and I have posted it to the FOLIO wiki. David Crossley is going to update the URL on the dev.folio.org site, and then we should be all set.

Comment by Ann-Marie Breaux (Inactive) [ 14/Jan/19 ]

Hi David Crossley Here's the URL - please make sure you can access and play the video before updating the link on dev.folio.org. Thank you!

The dev site is now updated.

Ann-Marie Breaux Please see my comment above, regarding the additional set of slides that accompany that video. Would you be able to store them in the same place? John sent them to me back in August. I can forward them to you.

Comment by Ann-Marie Breaux (Inactive) [ 15/Jan/19 ]

Yes, please David Crossley If you send me the slides, I can add them and send you the link.

By the way, the link is still not working for me. I'm getting directed to an EPAM site requiring a Microsoft login. I cleared my cache.

Are you sure it got updated? Can you access it OK now?

Thank you!

Comment by David Crossley [ 15/Jan/19 ]

Yes, i had verified that it did work. Sorry, what i forgot to say is that there is "yet another cache".

When the site is updated and published (via AWS and Cloudfront), then depending on where the user is located in the world, and other factors, then the update is either available immediately (as it is for me here today) or it takes 24 hours for its cache to be refreshed. A pain.

Comment by Peter Murray [ 15/Jan/19 ]

I kicked the Cloudfront cache, so it should be fully distributed now.

Comment by Ann-Marie Breaux (Inactive) [ 16/Jan/19 ]

Yes, all good now - thank you!

I've also posted the accompanying slides that David sent me.

David Crossley do you want to add a link on the dev page for those as well? If so, the link is https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SV6scBsmmukIwrTlAo-L17AWR73kpeFL6S6UmoJzync

These are in the FOLIO Google Drive, Development\Misc Training Material. Feel free to park other stuff there as well.

Thanks,
A-M

Comment by David Crossley [ 16/Jan/19 ]

That link to slides is added now.

Thanks for your help.

Comment by Ann-Marie Breaux (Inactive) [ 16/Jan/19 ]

Thank you David Crossley I think the update hasn't made its way through the system yet, but maybe Peter Murray can give it a kick like he did yesterday.

Comment by Peter Murray [ 16/Jan/19 ]

Kicked – and apologies for the need for manual kicking. Working on that.

All looks good Peter Murray and now this issue is officially DONE!
