Asked on the Slack #general channel: Does anyone else have trouble using the autocomplete when building queries on Jira? It's documented here on the Jira site https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/advanced-search-for-issues-autocomplete-doesn-t-submit-suggestion-by-a-click-with-latest-chrome-860044928.html The solution is to migrate to Jira 7.2.6 (our version seems to be 7.1.9) or else install an autcomplete.js patch, which I don't seem to be able to do on my laptop. Has anyone else run into this and solved it? Peter told me to build a Jira ticket and tag you, John Malconian |

David Crossley can you investigate this and let me know if a Jira upgrade is necessary? If so, we'll have to schedule an upgrade at some point (something we should do regardless). thanks. |

Thanks, John Malconian and David Crossley. Do you know if I'm the only person having this problem? Thanks, A-M |

That is an old issue, but i can confirm that this does happen using the most recent Chrome on Mac, okay with Safari and Firefox. The issue says to upgrade to Jira 7.2.6 version. The most recent is now beyond that. |

I'm on a Windows machine, using Chrome, if that matters. So what's the next step, David Crossley or John Malconian? |

Hi Ann-Marie. YOu may already know this, but to select an item from the auto-complete menu, you need to use your keyboard. The mouse doesn't work for some reason. I have also found that JIRA gets laggy after you've been using it for a while and won't provide autocomplete suggestions (esp in Labels). Closing Chrome and restarting usually does the trick (for a while) |

Cate Boerema That was the missing piece!! I have to use the keyboard instead of the mouse or touchpad. That's definitely NOT intuitive! OK, I'm all set now. David Crossley or John Malconian if you want to just close this instead of upgrading, that's fine by me. |

Thanks folks. I've changed the nature of this issue to "Upgrade Jira" - since it's something we need to do at some point soon anyway. |

Looked at this again, and it's working OK now in Jira. Closing this old bug |
