 Description

Overview: When displaying an item record for a FOLIO instance, a large error message displays, which says the publisher property is null, then refresh the page. After refresh, page displays properly.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Log into FOLIO-snapshot-stable as diku_admin
  2. Go to Inventory and click on any instance that has a holding or item record
  3. Click on the holding or item to display it

Expected Results: The holding or item should display

Actual Results: Large error message. Once you refresh the page, the error disappears and you can see the holding or item.

Additional Information: See attached video

Yesterday I could reproduce the bug with both the holding and the item of the Duden record.
Today the bug is gone for the Duden record.

Ann-Marie Breaux: Is there still an instance record whose holding or item has this bug? If yes please add the instance's title to this bug description.

This feels like two separate issues:

  1. One sounds suspiciously similar to UIIN-207 Closed , where we are finding null items on lists and then, finding what appears to be a non-empty list, attempting to display its items without checking whether they are valid.
  2. Separate, navigating to a URL via clicking in the UI generates different results than accessing it directly, i.e. navigating to a URL shows an error but reloading the page to access it directly is successful. Michal Kuklis do you think it's possible some of the work around STCOR-231 Closed may be in play here?

Zak Burke it's hard to tell but I will take a closer look at this today.

Zak Burke this looks like a different / not related issue to STCOR-231 Closed . The problem is that I can't reproduce it locally. Perhaps it's another issue where local build differs from the CI?

Hi Zak Burke, Michal Kuklis, Julian Ladisch I'm not finding the bug/error message in folio-snapshot-stable today. I checked holdings/items for 6 or 7 titles. Should we just go ahead and close this?

Ann-Marie Breaux I tested it couple more times too but I couldn't reproduce it either. I think it will be ok to close this one.
