Merge duplicate instances (ECS and non-ECS)

Description

Ability to merge duplicate instances (plus the underlying source records if Source = MARC) in various circumstances

Non-ECS:

  • duplicate instances identified in Inventory

  • duplicate SRS MARC Bibs (associated with 2 different instances) identified in SRS

  • : Do we need to consider duplicate MARC Authority records?

ECS:

  • Duplicate shared instances in Central tenant

  • Duplicate SRS MARC Bibs (associated with 2 different instances) in Central tenant

  • Duplicate local instances in a member tenant

  • Duplicate local SRS MARC Bibs (associated with 2 different local instances) in a member tenant

  • Local instance from a member tenant that has been promoted to shared, and now duplicates an existing shared instance in the Central tenant (and the related SRS MARCs, if there are any)

  • : Do we need to consider local and shared MARC Authorities?

Hi . A library in Brazil currently using an ILS that has this feature (SophiA ILS) and asked to have it in FOLIO. Is it being planned for development? Thanks
