Current situation or problem:

Currently Folio only has basic support for serials management in the form of Ongoing Orders and some relate subscription dates and properties on the order/order line. More information and functionality is required for serials management in libraries

In scope

A new "Serials" application in Folio which will initially support subscription based serials, meaning:

• There are predictable pieces that need to be received

• That Invoicing and Payment processes are not directly connected to the receipt of specific materials

The Serials application will support the ability to:

• Create/edit subscription based serial records

• Create/edit prediction patterns

• Create/edit a set of scheduled pieces for a serial based on its prediction pattern

• Create equivalent receiving pieces (in receiving app) based on the scheduled pieces that have been generated

Out of scope

Other types of (non-predictable) serials such as standing orders
